Kitz-Charity-Trophy Live Stream Premiere
For the first time this year, the Kitz Charity Trophy, which takes place immediately after the Downhill Race, will be broadcast live, so you don’t actually have to be in the finish stadium to see all the action. Sebastian Vettel, Harti Weirather, Franz Klammer, Kjetil Jansrud, DJ Ötzi, Melissa Naschenweng and Didier Cuche have joined this year’s line-up.
For the 27th time, the Kitz Charity Trophy will be complementing the list of the Hahnenkamm Races’ side events. The proceeds from this year’s celebrity charity race will once again benefit farmers in need in North, East and South Tyrol. The Kitz Charity Trophy will take place on Saturday after the Downhill Race and will be streamed live for the first time. This year's participants include Sebastian Vettel, Harti Weirather, Franz Klammer, Kjetil Jansrud, Maria Höfl-Riesch, DJ Ötzi, Melissa Naschenweng and Didier Cuche. Bernie Ecclestone will act as Race Director.
The Charity Trophy has become an intrinsic element of the Hahnenkamm Race programme. Once again this year, its unique network spanning sport, business, entertainment and culture will support the event, with numerous celebrities tackling the giant slalom course on the Streif finish slope. The race is held under the patronage of Bernd Pischetsrieder, Gerhard Berger and Burghard Hummel.
Thanks to the generous support of numerous sponsors and partners, it has been possible to donate around 3 million euros to farming families in need over the years. Sixt and Biogena have been secured as sponsors for this year’s race. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to the many long-standing and new partners who continue to support the Charity Trophy.
Kitzbühel Ski Club and the Weirather Wenzel & Partner (WWP Group) sports marketing agency are responsible for organising the race. Robert Schmidle, Co-CEO of the WWP Group, explains: “The Kitz Charity Trophy has become an integral part of the Hahnenkamm Races. It shines a spotlight on those who help maintain a healthy mountain ecosystem – the farming families who so often find themselves in difficulty through no fault of their own. This year, we are expanding the circle of beneficiaries to include the Franz Klammer Foundation, Wings for Life and the Kitzbühel Social Services. They all deserve our support.”
