Thanks to 81,000 fans
81,000 fans came to the 85th Hahnenkamm Races. The Downhill on Saturday was watched by an average of 1.16 million TV viewers on ORF and 2.54 million on ZDF. Sunday’s Slalom was viewed by 1.15 million ski fans on ORF.
The 85th Hahnenkamm Races once again attracted huge crowds of sports fans. 18,000 spectators came to the Super-G on Friday, 45,000 made for a sold-out stadium on Saturday. The final Slalom on the Ganslern slope on Sunday was attended by 18,000 spectators. A total of 81,000 spectators came to the three races.
The viewing figures are also very pleasing: 186,000 ski fans tuned in to the Downhill training on Wednesday afternoon on ORF. An average of 706,000 watched the super-G on Friday and 1.16 million watched the classic race on Saturday. In Germany, 1.1 million (Friday) and 2.5 million (Saturday) watched the races on the Streif on ZDF. Excitement was also high on Sunday: 944,000 spectators watched the 1st heat on ORF and an average of 1.15 million skiers watched the second.
Our host broadcasting TV station ORF also screened the two award ceremonies at the finish area and was particularly popular on Saturday: an average of 475,000 ORF viewers rejoiced with the Downhill heroes. An average of 287,000 ski fans tuned in to ORF 1 as the Super-G winners were honoured.
