The Streif for listeners
All races can be listened to live. Gregor Waltl and Sebastian Kaufmann also report on live radio from behind the scenes of the Streif and Kitzbühel. Chris Cummins, who celebrates his birthday during race weekend, makes sure that all races can also be heard in English.
Since 2011, and now for the 14th time in succession, Kitzbühel Ski Club has offered live audio commentary of the ski races and the Downhill Training. This enables blind and visually impaired ski enthusiasts to access the races, as well as anyone who is out and about and doesn't have a TV – be it in the car or at the office. The audio2 team, Gregor Waltl and Sebastian Kaufmann, will make the excitement of the live stream not only audible but tangible. In addition, the team provides background information on the 85th Hahnenkamm Races around the clock, which is not only helpful, but often very entertaining.
In cooperation with ORF, the live audio commentary is transmitted on the second audio channel of ORF 1, via live stream on the Internet, as well as on the local radio frequency of 89.3 MHz.
The Streif in English
Chris Cummins provides English commentary for the races. This year, the British man is celebrating an anniversary, as he has been the anchor man for international listeners for ten years. His proudest moment in this role was on 22nd January 2022, when fellow Brit Dave Ryding won the Slalom on the Ganslernhang. It was the first World Cup victory by a British skier since the introduction of the World Cup. The live stream can be received worldwide free of charge. Click here for the live streams.
