Where and when to party in Kitzbühel
It’s not just the Hahnenkamm Race winners who like to party. Here, a brief overview of the fan parties.
It's not just the winners who celebrate at the Hahnenkamm Races. Here's a brief overview of the parties for fans.
Around 85,000 skiing enthusiasts are expected to flock to the 86th Hahnenkamm Races again this year. To accommodate them, Kitzbühel's Vorderstadt and Hinterstadt districts and the park in the town centre will be transformed into Austria's biggest party mile over the weekend. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 50 stalls and food trucks run by local clubs and Kitzbühel businesses will be providing refreshments.
There are three party areas:
- Town centre: Kronehit
- Schoolyard: Radio U1 stage (DJ Lukas Brunner, Julia Buchner, Jason Nussbaumer ...)
- Town park: VELO stage with DJs (Misha, Wesh, Maxonic, Medun, Instyle)
No drinks exceeding an alcohol content of ten per cent are served throughout the party area. It is forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages to the fan zone.
More detailed information on the music programme can be found here. If the bustle in the finish stadium is too overwhelming for you, or you couldn’t get hold of a ticket for the Downhill Race, you may as well watch all races live on one of the video walls installed at various points throughout town. Cashless payments are possible everywhere and even mandatory in the Mastercard Cashless Area.
Numerous emergency services, including the Red Cross, security teams, the safety coordination unit, Samaritan services and the fire brigade, are on duty to ensure everyone’s safety. They are responsible, amongst others, for first aid, monitoring spectator areas, securing the racecourse and providing fire protection – all to ensure a smooth and safe event.
The ski party ends at 22 hrs on both Friday and Saturday, with last orders at 21.45 hrs. Sales stalls and food trucks may remain open until 22.30 hrs but serve only food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Fan Zone Info:
- Catering: 50 stalls
- Live coverage: 5 video walls
- Alcohol content limit: max. 10 per cent
- Payment: cashless payment available
- Closing time: 22 Uhr
- Food trucks: until 22.30 hrs (soft drinks only)
Prize-giving ceremonies in the finish area:
A visit to the finish stadium is well worthwhile on both Friday and Saturday. The bib draw begins at 18 hrs, followed by the prize-giving ceremony at 18:30 hrs. Spectators will then be entertained by a drone show on both evenings – a hugely popular highlight that premiered in 2025.
