Technicians are fully committed
18.01.2016
Richard Prethaler and his company are supervising the technical engineering at the Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm-Races. His team already started installing cables in the summer. Construction work is now entering the decisive phase. For the past three weeks, Prethaler and his team have been making sure that all technical measures for the Races are being met. Building a total of nine video walls, as well as setting up power connections and Wifi-Networks, are just a few of their tasks. “All of our employees are fully committed to the job and are really looking forward to the Races”, says the K.S.C. official.
Up to 20 Technicians will be present throughout the Races. They will be positioned at crucial sections along the racecourse, such as the “Starthaus” and finishing area, around the clock. “It is extremely important that everything meets the safety regulations.” Even after the last racer crosses the finish line, Prethaler and his team will still have a lot of work ahead of them. “We will be busy for up to a week after the end of the races, dismantling and removing everything. In the summer we’ll have a debriefing session, to go over our work and see where we can improve. For example, we might come up with different ways to install cables and position cameras.”
