Thanks to 87.000 fans
87,000 fans attended the 84th Hahnenkamm Races. The Downhill on Saturday was watched by an average of 1.2 million viewers on Austrian ORF and 2.7 million viewers on German ARD.
Sports fans were lured once again by the attraction of the 84th Hahnenkamm Races. 20,000 spectators came to the Downhill on Friday, 45,000 fans filled the sold-out stadium on Saturday. The Slalom on the Ganslern Slope on Sunday was attended by 22,000 spectators. A total of 87,000 spectators came to the three races.
The audience ratings are also very pleasing: 152,000 ski fans tuned in to the Downhill Training on Wednesday afternoon screened on ORF. Friday’s Downhill was watched by an average of 802,000 viewers and the classic on Saturday by 1.2 million. In Germany, 1.53 million viewers (Friday) and 2.7 million viewers (Saturday) watched the Races on the Streif on ARD.
Host broadcasting TV station ORF also provided live coverage of the two award ceremonies at the finish area and was particularly popular on Saturday evening: an average of 400,000 ORF viewers shared the excitement with the downhill heroes.
