World Association of Sports Medicine honours Dr. Raas
A special honour was bestowed today on Professor Prim. Privy Councillor Dr. Ernst Raas. The 94-year-old sports medicine legend was honoured for his 50 years membership in the Fédération Internationale de Médecine du Sport (FIMS) in the presence of ÖSV President Prof. Peter Schröcksnadel. FIMS President Prof. Dr. Fabio Pigozzi, who travelled all the way from Rome for the ceremony, emphasized the incredible accomplishments of Dr. Raas, who is also an honorary ÖSV member, in the world of international sports medicine, before raising a glass with numerous medical colleagues and long-time companions at the award ceremony in Innsbruck.
FIMS was founded in 1928 and endorses the worldwide development and promotion of sports medical research, further education and training as well as practical sports medical care.
Professor Prim. Privy Councillor Dr. Ernst Raas. was also involved with the Hahnenkamm Races for many years and was responsible for medical services.
