The fact that spectacular records are set in Kitzbühel is nothing new. But to race down this compact World Cup course, considered to be the most challenging in the world, is a unique challenge. One faced by Kitzbühel lad, Max Stöckl, who fulfilled a lifelong dream by riding down the Hausberg Mountain.

3.3 kilometres, 860 metres in elevation difference with a top speed of 103.64 km/h in an incredible time of three minutes and six seconds.

A feat that not even Hahnenkamm champ Hannes Reichelt would dare to attempt:

“It scares me even on skis – and I’m a good skier – mountain biking is not my forte.

A cobbler should stick to his trade, and I’m going to stay on two skis.“
