Emergency services and medical management are prepared
Frequent rounds of coordination meetings are taking place. HKR OK Medical Management Team has met with Dr. Helmuth Obermoser jun. and Dr. Simon Gasteiger, Red Cross Head of Operations, Bernhard Gschnaller, Gerhard Czappek of the Samaritan Federation, Florian Haderer from Kitzbühel Mountain Rescue Services, as well as Captain Christoph Grünbacher from ÖAMTC Air Rescue Services. "Our teams are well prepared and we hope we don't have any major assignments", say the team unanimously.
“In case of injury, every racer will be picked by ÖAMTC Air Rescue Services. The fact that an athlete is helicoptered off the racecourse is by no means an indicator of the severity of his injuries. Our objective is for the race to continue as quickly as possible, enabling all athletes to enjoy the same conditions and preventing others from having to wait,” says Dr. Helmuth Obermoser.
The Operations Centre in the finish area has been enlarged for the Red Cross and Samaritan Federation. "We have thus improved working conditions for these organizations," says infrastructure manager Mandi Goller. "Both organizations are primarily responsible for the spectators on site".
