No rest this Sunday on the Streif

The final finishing touches and safety measures were completed on the Streif on Sunday. The Chief of Race has a big grin on his face as he contemplates the forthcoming Race Week. The first training run begins on Tuesday at 11.30 hrs. Admission is free!

The Streif has been (more or less) race ready since the weekend. For the untrained eye, all that's missing are the gates. The final finishing touches were completed on Sunday. What does that mean? "The entire course is inspected from top to bottom, to check if there are any "nests." These are softer areas, which are then rectified", says Mario Mittermayer-Weinhandl. The safety team is also installing the last (of the 153) air cushions. The Chief of Race has a big grin on his face as he contemplates the forthcoming Race Week. "The weather forecast is good and I hope it stays that way. The entire team is very happy and hopes that the intensive preparation work will be rewarded with some great races."

The warm-up for the 84th Hahnenkamm Races begins with the first training session on Tuesday. Start time: 11.30 am. Admission is free. The date for the second training session will be announced shortly.
