Race Report: Super G
The 79th Hahnenkamm Races 2019 came to a close with today’s Super-G. In the morning, it looked as though there would be another cloudy day ahead, but blue skies and some rays of sunshine came through just in time for the race.
Josef Ferstl Junior garnered first place exactly 40 years after his father, Sepp Ferstl Senior, won the Downhill. Whizzing over the finish line in 1:13:07, he landed in first place eight hundredths of a second ahead of French athlete Johan Clarey. Dominik Paris (ITA), who snatched the Downhill trophy on Friday, came third. Just missing the podium and in a strong 4th place is Vincent Kriechmayr, followed by Matthias Mayer in fifth place.
Congratulations to all the athletes on their fantastic achievements!
