"Rutschkommando": The Tireless Helpers
Preparation works on the Streif and Ganslern are currently in full swing. Slip crews are on duty around the clock, removing all the fresh snow from the racecourse. Several extra “helping hands” are expected in the night from Thursday to Friday, all dedicating themselves to one cause: ensuring the piste is ready for the Super-G.
A slip crew member’s job is no walk in the park – structured procedures are required. The challenging course conditions demand both skiing prowess and utmost concentration. The crews slide from the top of the Streif to the bottom, quickly and in close ranks, removing fresh snow from the course. For the volunteers it’s an honour to help the event organizers in this endeavour.
