The countdown is on
08.10.2016
In 100 days from today, the future Hahnenkamm champion will be racing down the Streif. Bib number 1 of the Europacup athletes will be on the racecourse on Monday, 16th January at 10:15 hrs. A new feeling for both the Organisers and the athletes - as the Europacup is stopping by in Kitzbühel for the very first time. Kitzbühel Ski Club (K.S.C.) is hosting a Europacup competition prior to the Hahnenkamm Races for the first time. "Europacup contenders should prepare for the next step of their career by acquainting themselves with the Streif", says HK Chief of Race, Axel Naglich. The race start line will be located at the Mausefalle and the finish line at Oberhausberg. "Some of these athletes are the World Champions of tomorrow. They ski well and are at a high level, both professionally and in sporting terms. The race side-lines are no less spectacular for fans at the Europacup", says Naglich. Kitzbühel plan to host the Europacup Downhill biennially, alternating every other year with the Junior Race. The Organizers emphasise the fact that the support for young athletes has special priority, something in which K.S.C. has always played a leading role. Please note: The World Cup entourage will be travelling to Kitzbühel on the Europacup race day, heralding the countdown for the Hahnenkamm-Super G, Downhill and Slalom.
